CCCU Law & Mooting Society is dedicated to providing law students with a supportive environment to thrive in their academic and professional pursuits. Through our various activities and events, we aim to empower our members with the necessary skills, knowledge, and opportunities to excel in the legal field.

The Team

Our team consists of highly motivated students, who are all passionate in their chosen field of law. With ample experience in the working  industry, they have the skills to provide comprehensive, first-rate opportunities and events to our members.

Lauren Cooper

President
 

Lauren has a substantial career history with many skills developed over a variety of roles in different industries. The same of which, lead to her vocation in the legal industry. She has been a Legal Secretary for several years and was promoted to a Conveyancing Legal Assistant in December 2022. Her main interests of law lies with Property, Equity and the Environment. She loves gardening, growing a variety of fruit and vegetables, enjoys nature walks and appreciating wildlife.

Phoebe Wakefield

Vice President (acting)
 

Phoebe has a strong background in sales, childcare and social care. Her work based skills bring many attributes to the committee particularly in resuming the position of Social Secretary. She has a keen interest in Family and Criminal law and is driven to undertake a  legal role in either these areas. Phoebe loves reading, spending time with her loved ones and trying new things.

Chris McKenzie

Inclusion & Wellbeing Officer (acting)

Chris holds a firm background working with the Courts as a Community Legal Companion, part of project CLOCK in Canterbury. His experience in Court has provided him a versatile skill set, widening his expertise in data entry, filing, lateral thinking, completion of legal forms and a strong interpersonal skills. He is passionate about Employment Law an Mediation, and has enjoyed attending sessions at the Mediation Clinic.
